V-Moda Remix Remote headphone

The product:

As the audio industry continues its mission to convince everyone that it's worth spending money on a decent pair of headphones, the V-Moda Remix Remotes are a great example of how companies
should earn that trust. They're featherweight at just 17 grams, though their all-metal earbud construction means more for long-term durability than the simple glued-together plastic aesthetic used by the

JBL Charge portable Bluetooth speaker

The product:

This is a wireless speaker, but it's called the Charge for a reason: it has a USB port that allows you to use the speaker's built-in 6,000mAh lithium-ion battery to charge other portable devices, such as a smartphone or tablet.

While all these compact speakers have their sound limitations, the Charge is one of the better-sounding speakers for its size and price point, besting the Jawbone Jambox, Beats Pill, and $99 models such as the Flip and Logitech UE Mobile Boombox.

Of course, the advantage to those models is that

The Philips DS1155 Docking Speaker

The product:
This isn't really a new speaker, for Philips has been selling 30-pin-connector versions of the same unit since April 2011. What's new is the Lightning connector.

The unit, which comes in black or white, has a sleek circular shape and Philips describes the speaker as offering 360-degree omni directional sound. One of Philips' strengths is its industrial

The Monoprice 9774

What you should know:
What is clear is that the Monoprice 9774 speaker system is the best home audio value we've ever seen -- a superlative we used to give to the Energy speakers at the $400 price point. That earns the Monoprice 9774 our Editors' Choice award for

The JBL Micro Wireless

If you are looking for some mobile speaker that you can bring anywhere, consider this.

The advantage: The JBL Micro Wireless Bluetooth speaker is a compact, hockey-puck-size speaker that has a built-in lithium ion rechargeable battery and offers good sound for its size. It also has an integrated line-in cable that stows away in the bottom of the device.
The unfavorable: Doesn't handle big bass well and distorts at higher volumes.
The offer: An attractive form factor and a good feature set give the JBL Micro Wireless a leg up in the tiny wireless speaker competition.
This is a slightly different class of speaker from the Jawbone Jambox. The Micro is truly tiny, a mono speaker not much bigger than a Christmas ornament that weighs in at a mere 4.48 ounces. While it doesn't deliver incredible sound, it does offer impressive sound for its size.
While you can certainly plug it into a laptop and use it in wired mode (or pair it wirelessly with a Bluetooth-enabled PC), the other big application for it is to pair it with a smartphone or tablet. It's definitely a significant step up over the internal speakers of an iPhone or an iPad and plays considerably louder and offers some bass, though not a lot.

The NUFORCE S3-BT Bluetooth Speakers Ditch

Here is another speaker to choose for your needs of sound, you may consider it.

The NuForce S3-BT looks like your typical set of powered speakers, but instead of using a traditional, or what they call an “inferior SBC codec”, they’ve based thee S3-BT on the apt-X codec, which is said to produce “crystalline sound”. Now, everyone knows that Bluetooth has its shortcoming, no matter what codec you use. So NuForce has also included a set of analog inputs, allowing their customers to use NuForce’s own Air DAC wireless system. Their DAC provides true 16-bit performance that eclipses even their own version of Bluetooth, though it will probably take a discerning ear to hear the difference. Other features include a woofer that
is constructed using a proprietary “anti-resonance” cone technique and powerful magnets. The tweeters are custom soft-dome design, which are said to offer the lowest distortion and smoothest natural response.

The Beats Pill Bluetooth Speaker

If you are sound lover and used to go outing, picnics, and other occasion, you should have this speaker with you.
Finding the right Bluetooth Speaker, though, is no easy feat, as the market is littered with a myriad of choices. Our top picks have been the Jambox and Philips Shoqbox for their big sound, while the Logitech UE Mobile Boombox is a great bang for buck.
Unlike the Jambox and the Shoqbox, the Pill tips the scales at just over a half of pound (half the weight and then some by comparison), yet measures 7.5-inches long. Until we get our hands on one we really can’t remark on the audio quality, and Beats has refrained from telling us what is under the proverbial hood in terms of speakers. We can however tell you that it is battery powered, includes a 1.5m headphone cable, a USB 2.0 cable for charging, and can connect wirelessly to your smartphone or laptop via Bluetooth. A built-in mic for taking calls, and a set
