The Samsung Galaxy Metrix 4G

The advantage: 

The Samsung Galaxy Metrix 4G has a pleasing 4-inch screen, a comfortable slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and access to 4G LTE speeds.
The unfavorable: 

The Metrix 4G runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread, has a slow processor, and trips up during calls. The camera likes turning whites blue.
The offer: A slower processor, older Android OS, and uneven camera keep the Samsung Galaxy Metrix 4G and its very good slide-out keyboard from reaching their highest potential.

The Panasonic TC-P42X5

The X5 is Panasonic's cheapest TV and doesn't have any of what is consider "modern" features like smart TV or even 3D. This is a 720p set, as most of the entry-level plasmas are, and so features a resolution of 1,024x768 pixels. The TV has a 600Hz subfield drive, and while most plasma have it these days, it bring it up in the absence of any other significant features.
Panasonic is one of the few companies who include an SD card slot on its TVs, and does so here, to make it easy to look at photos and videos from cameras.

The advantage: 

The cheap Panasonic TC0PX5 series displays plenty of shadow detail and has better black levels than some LCDs at the same price or higher. The TV is able to properly display interlaced content from Blu-rays as well as the correct cadence for 24p content.

The Acrobat XI

PDF's mixed blessings as a format has always been its uneditability.
But now you can; you can edit and add text, perform search and replace, and individually replace images and graphics extremely easily. You're still relatively limited by the page layout -- text will reflow but if you extend pass the existing area it will overlap with other page objects -- and it will substitute fonts rather than rendering a close-looking facsimile (because, well, DRM). But as someone who routinely has to pull PDF files back into Illustrator for small tweaks based on other people's feedback, I'm chair dancing. The Typewriter tool has been replaced by a full-fledged text engine, and it's faster. If you regularly grind your teeth waiting for the Typewriter tool to load, it's probably worth the upgrade cost. In fact, the program feels a lot faster than Acrobat X overall.

Android Phones are Risk To Wipeout Attack

Cellphones using Google's Android operating system are at risk of being disabled or wiped clean of their data, including contacts, music and photos, because of a security flaw that was discovered several months ago but went unnoticed until now.
Opening a link to a website or a mobile application embedded with malicious code can trigger an attack capable of destroying the memory card in Android-equipped handsets made by Samsung, HTC, Motorola and Sony Ericsson, rendering the devices useless, computer security researcher Ravi Borgaonkar wrote in a blog post Friday. Another code that can erase a user's data by performing a factory reset of the device appears to target only the newly released and top selling Galaxy S III and other Samsung phones, he wrote.

Getting into the world of Touch

Having Windows 8, the one keyword you hear most often is "touch." That means touch-screen tablets and slates, touch panels added to traditional clamshell laptops, and touch-enabled all-in-one desktops. It also refers to Microsoft's new emphasis on touch gestures for touch pads, as well as the ambitious plans component companies such as Synaptics have for touch input in Windows 8.

Computer mouse had transformed, with its left and right buttons, scroll wheel, and single optical sensor (or trackball, for the old-schoolers) has changed little over the years, aside from shedding the USB (or earlier PS/2) cable for a wireless dongle or Bluetooth. A handful of models have added touch sensors along the top or extraneous side buttons, but the basic concept is the same, and increasingly far removed from how we interact with the rest of our high-tech devices.

HP Spectre had just-announced one all-in-one. This $1,299 desktop with a 23-inch 1080p display doesn't have a touch screen, but has  standalone touch pad, which matches up with an also-included wireless keyboard. Together, the pair looks an awful lot like the Apple wireless keyboard and trackpad combo sitting on my desk right now.
