iPhone 5 Gets Thumbs-Up

Group of consumer who blasted iPhone 4 approves the arrival of iPhone 5, this is according to
Consumer Reports in San Francisco USA, the influential reviewers' group that blasted the iPhone 4 for a faulty antenna, on Friday gave Apple Inc's latest smartphone a thumbs-up despite echoing widespread complaints about its patchy mapping service.
The organization, which in 2010 withheld its recommendation for the iPhone because of spotty reception when the gadget was held in a certain way, said laboratory tests confirmed that the new iPhone 5 ranked among the best smartphones but its mapping function clearly fell short.
Apple's latest iPhone, sporting a larger 4-inch screen and 4G capability, drew scathing reviews for glaring errors in a new, self-designed mapping service. Chief Executive Tim Cook apologized last week and directed users to rival services run by Google Inc and others.

The Polk UltraFit 3000 in-ear headphones

This UltraFit 3000s have a bendable "hook" integrated into their design that wraps around your ear, helping you get a pretty secure fit. Polk calls it SecureFit Support -- is pretty decent (yes, the UltraFit 3000s are sweatproof). It's worth pointing out that since these are "made for iPhone" earphones, the remote features (and even the microphone in some cases) won't work with many Android models (and other smartphones). Like other such three-button remotes, you tap the pause/play button two times quickly to advance a track forward and three quick taps will skip a track back.

The advantage: 

The Polk UltraFit 3000 is a sports in-ear-canal model (with an around-the-ear bendable hook) that offers a sweatproof design, decent sound, and comes with a plethora of accessories, including multiple eartips and two swappable cords, including one that has an Apple-friendly remote with built-in microphone.
The unfavorable: 

Not everybody will get a secure fit -- if you don't, bass response will be reduced and the earphones will sound thin.
The offer: 

Since they won't fit everyone equally well, the Polk UltraFit 3000 headphones will seem great to some users and not so great to others.

The Lenovo IdeaTab A2109

This device has rounded corners, tapered edges, and a silver-grayish plastic build. Though I am a fan of the smooth brushed-chrome finish (which gives it a more luxurious feel), the whole design is reminiscent of the first-generation iPad. The A2109 is bulky, which doesn't make it great for butterfingers. The backplate’s slick surface, in combination with the device's thick profile, prove to be slippery and unwieldy.

The advantage: 

The Lenovo IdeaTab A2109 sports a snappy quad-core CPU, features expandable storage and an HDMI output, and is reasonably priced at $300.
The unfavorable: 

The IdeaTab A2109's display is unimpressive, it has a bulky build, and it has disappointing video recording quality.
The offer: 

Despite having a decent price tag and zippy processor, the Lenovo IdeaTab A2109's screen is just too drab to consider.

The Sony KDL-46EX645

This is an edge-lit LED TV that lacks local dimming, but does come with Sony's MotionFlow XR 240 engine. While that number may lead you to believe this is a 240Hz TV, the native panel refresh rate is actually 120Hz.
The advantage: 

The relatively affordable Sony EX645 offers deep-enough black levels for the money and commendable color saturation. The design is attractive and the menu system is easy to use.
The unfavorable: 

We detected a couple of uniformity issues, black areas can look blue under lights, and shadow detail isn't up there with the better TVs. The SEN portion of the Smart TV interface is so slow that it's kind of a waste.
The offer:

 Sony has upgraded its EX645 series TV with onboard wireless providing even better value given its predecessor's already solid picture quality.

The iPhone 5 Camera Problem

During the past couple weeks, Apple customers have been complaining of a "purple haze" in photos taken with the iPhone 5. It's a similar problem that, according to TechCrunch, can also be seen in iPhone 4S photos but that is "far more pronounced on the iPhone 5." What users are reportedly seeing is a bright ring of light when they point their devices in the direction of a strong light source; when the camera is repositioned so that the light appears offscreen, a purple halo can still be seen.
And just recently, Apple CEO Tim Cook had published a public apology for the company's half-baked Maps app, which was developed to replace Google Maps in iOS 6 but which has frustrated users with its tendency for glitches and inaccurate mapping info.
Apple marketing chief Phil Schiller has also reportedly responded to users' complaints that the new iPhone scratches too easily. Schiller apparently said that it's "normal" for an aluminum-backed device to scratch or scuff, per 9to5Mac.

The Asus Vivo Tab RT

Take a look at this new tablet and its features..
The VivoTab RT has a 10.1-inch, 1,366x768-pixel Super IPS display and is powered by an Nvidia Tegra 3 TE quad-core processor, along with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013 RT Preview Edition come included (but note that should be the case with every RT machine).
An 8-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front camera, and built-in NFC round out the Vivo Tab RT's feature set.

If you prefer that full version of Windows 8, note that a step-up version of the Vivo Tab running the grown-up version of Microsoft's OS is also planned. That model will be powered by the next-gen version of Intel's Atom CPU.
It's unclear if the Vivo Tab RT will be available on any other carriers in the U.S., or if it will be coming in a Wi-Fi-only version at some point. Also unknown is the price and exact release date of the AT&T version.
